At Crunchyroll, we are dedicated to giving our users the best viewing experience possible, whilst still staying true to the original source material. If your videos are not available in 1080p, here are four things to consider:
- Source material
- What is reported to the device as the maximum screen resolution.
- Your in-app Download Quality settings for Downloads
- Your internet bandwidth
- Source Material
- Crunchyroll provides the highest quality stream that matches the source received from our publishing partners.
- What is reported to the device as the maximum screen resolution
- Your device report to Crunchyroll's app its maximum screen resolution and the app will serve video up to this highest resolution.
- Your in-app Download Quality settings for Downloads
- On iPhones, iPads, and Andriod mobile devices you have the option in your Crunchyroll app to choose your download quality. Just navigate to your Account > Settings > Downloads and select between High, Medium and Low. High gives you the best streaming quality, but patience is keyas it takes the longest to download!
- On Nintendo Switch devices, the maximum resolution supported for Downloads is 720p to match the device's display in handheld mode.
- Your internet bandwidth
- Crunchyroll's video players measure internet bandwidth levels throughout your playback session and will pick the highest quality stream to give you the most seamless streaming experience possible!
By considering these factors, we aim to provide you with the best video playback quality on the Crunchyroll app, so you can enjoy your favorite shows to the fullest! \(^0^)/Happy Streaming!
