If your Android app shows an error stating "There was a problem starting the app" and will not get past the initial loading screen or it crashes upon opening it, there are a few solutions to try.
Example error:
- Check that your Crunchyroll app is up to date.
Please visit the Play Store and make sure you currently have the latest version of the app. - Check that your device's firmware is up to date.
You will have to go to settings -> About device -> Check for software updates.
We currently support Android 6+. -
Clear the Crunchyroll cache and app data on your device.
On your device, clear your cache and delete the app data for the Crunchyroll app. The method used to do this may be slightly different depending on your device so if you are unsure how to do this, please look up "How to clear app data" for your Android version. - Fully uninstalling and reinstalling the Crunchyroll app.
Only try this after attempting all other solutions. After reinstalling, please also reset your device.
