We have had an ongoing partnership with Funimation these last two years to bring Funimation’s line-up of anime to millions of Crunchyroll users. Unfortunately, Funimation has decided to go their separate way, and this partnership will be winding down on Friday, November 9th.
For our Crunchyroll community, this means that you’ll still be able to access the biggest anime library in the world, with the exception of select catalog titles that had been provided by Funimation under certain circumstances. That list is currently being determined, and we will share impacted titles here as soon as possible. Titles licensed together through the partnership will continue to be available on Crunchyroll, and no changes to simulcasts are anticipated for the fall season.
As demonstrated by our record year of new anime announcements, Crunchyroll is more committed than ever to continue bringing you the best and latest series from Japan, as well as expanding our catalog of classics. We’ve just launched a strong fall season -- with the likes of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Sword Art Online Alicization, just to name a few -- and also plan to bring more dubbed anime to you.
Thank you for your continued support. We’re honored to be your favorite place for anime and will continue to do our best in delivering you more A+seasons for years to come.To find more FAQ’s and knowledge base questions and answers, access the rest of our knowledge base.
