If you’re running into trouble setting up or blocking specific content from playback, or you’re blocked from content you should be able to view, here are some troubleshooting fixes for content restrictions.
Why can't I set up Content Restrictions?
- Update your app or browser: Make sure you’re using the latest version. Older versions may not support the newest features.
- Clear your cache and cookies: Outdated cache files can interfere with changes. Clear them, then try again.
Forgot Password
-
Use “Forgot Password”: Log out of your account, then click Forgot Password on the login page.
-
Check your email: Follow the instructions in the reset email. Don’t forget to check your spam/junk folders if you don’t see it right away.
Why is blocked content still showing up?
- Re-apply Content Restrictions: Go back to Settings > Preferences > Content Restrictions, choose the rating level again, and confirm with your password.
Clear cache: On some devices, clearing the app or browser cache helps enforce new settings.
Note: The Content Restrictions feature doesn’t remove shows from the Crunchyroll catalog. Restricted titles will still appear in the catalog, but they won’t be playable on profiles with lower content restrictions.
With these steps, you should be able to adjust your content restrictions smoothly. If you’re still stuck, contact Crunchyroll Support—we’re available 24/7 to support!
