With Teen Profiles, you have the ability to set up and supervise the content your teens have access to while they’re watching anime on Crunchyroll, no matter which platform they’re using.
Here’s what you need to know about our Teen Access feature, including how this feature set keeps your kids safe and how to set up a teen profile.
What are teen profiles?
A Teen Profile is a separate profile created for younger or restricted viewers. It automatically limits what content can be watched using our age-appropriate content restrictions.
By default, this content advisory rating is set to Ages 14 and up. But the primary account holder can raise or lower the limit based on the needs of their teens and household.
Please note that your primary account can’t be set up as a teen profile, since it’s used for account access and management, not just viewing content.
What kind of safety features are included with a teen profile?
While using a teen profile, users will only be able to watch titles within a specific content advisory age range. By default, it’s set to Ages 14 and up.

What shows and movies can teens watch while using a teen profile?
While using a teen profile, users will only be able to watch titles with a content advisory rating of Ages 14 and up. You can adjust the age range of which shows, movies, and manga are available by changing the content restrictions in a profile’s account settings.
How do I create a teen profile?
To create a teen profile:
- Go to Manage Profiles → Add New
- After entering a profile name and optional user name, toggle on the Teen Profile option.
- Click Save.
To change an existing profile to a teen profile:
- Go to Manage Profiles and select the profile you want to change.
- Toggle on the Teen Profile option.
- Select Save.
Changing an existing profile to a teen profile automatically sets the content restrictions setting to Ages 14 and up. To change which content is viewable, you will need to adjust the content restrictions settings for this profile.
How do I change a teen profile to a default profile?
When teens are ready to graduate to older content, you can update their content restrictions in your Crunchyroll account settings.
To change a teen profile to a default profile:
- Go to your Crunchyroll account settings.
- Click Preferences → Content Restrictions.
- Set the age range you want for that profile and enter your account password to confirm the changes.

Who can create teen profiles?
If your subscription method allows you to create multiple profiles, you can set up teen profiles at any Premium membership tier and on any compatible device.
