Pick the quality that works best for you and watch anytime, anywhere, no connection needed! Just your phone and a dream!
Use the instructions below to download your favorite anime shows and movies to your portable devices!
Mobile App (Android & iOS)
- On the Crunchyroll app, tap the show you want.
- Tap the Download icon next to the episode you want to download, or tap Download All to save the entire season.
- Go to My Lists → Downloads to watch later.
Nintendo Switch
- Select the episode you want.
- Press the X button.
- Choose Download Episode.
- Find downloads in the App Menu > Downloads.
Can I download content to my PC?
No, this feature is currently only available for mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch.
Where can I find my downloaded content?
- On mobile: In the Crunchyroll app, go to My Lists > Downloads.
- On Switch: Open the App Menu > Downloads.
Downloaded episodes typically expire after a certain amount of time.
- Unplayed: Around 7 days.
- Once started: Usually 48 hours after playback begins.
If the video expires before you have a chance to finish it, no worries! You can always download it again once you’ve got a stable internet connection.
Files download in the same order that you choose them. The number of episodes or series you can download at once depends on your device’s available storage.
If you’re having trouble downloading content, check that you have enough room on your device.
What do the different download qualities mean?
The quality of a file affects how long it will take to download and how much storage it requires.
- High: Best image quality, uses the most storage, takes longer.
- Medium: Balanced quality, faster download, moderate storage.
- Low: Fastest and smallest, but lower resolution. You can set the default download quality on your device in your Crunchyroll account settings!
Can I use cellular data?
Yes — you can turn this on or off in account settings.
- To stream with cellular data: Go to Account > App Experience > Stream Using Cellular (slide right to turn on).
- To download with cellular data: Go to Account → Downloads → Download Using Cellular Data (slide right to turn on).
Once downloaded, your episodes are ready to watch offline, anytime, anywhere!
