Sadly SharePlay is only available to iOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Compatible devices include:

• iPhones and iPads with iOS 15.1 or later
• Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen or later
• Apple Vision Pro

To join the fun, make sure you have the Crunchyroll app version 4.16.0 or higher on your iPhone or iPad, tvOS 3.9.0 or higher on your Apple TV.

To use SharePlay, double check that you have the latest version of the Crunchyroll app ( 4.16.0 or higher on your iPhone or iPad, tvOS 3.9.0 or higher on your Apple TV) installed. Here’s how to check:

• On app: Go to Account tab in the Crunchyroll app and scroll down to the bottom.
• On iOS: Go to Apple Settings > General > About. The Software version will be displayed as the second item. If needed, update by going to Apple Settings > General > Software Update.
• On Apple TV: Go to Settings > General > About and check the Model to get the model number. Once you have the model number check out this article to identify your Apple TV model and generation.

Yes, all participants in the SharePlay session must have the Crunchyroll app installed. Unfortunately SharePlay is only a premium feature, so fans watching the ad-supported version of the app will not be able to join in on the fun.

Members of your crew that do not have premium will be prompted to start a free trial of Crunchyroll to join the SharePlay session.

Yes! SharePlay works internationally for iOS and tvOS (Apple Vision Pro is currently only available in the U.S). Don’t forget, content availability can vary due to regional rules and restrictions. So if one of your friends adds you to a SharePlay session in a territory that does not have rights to certain content, there is a chance you will not be able to join the adventure.

Creating a SharePlay session is a breeze! Follow these steps to get set up faster than Whis can run:

To start a SharePlay session on iOS and Apple Vision Pro:

1. Navigate to the Crunchyroll app.
2. Start a FaceTime call on your iOS device.
3. Go to the watch page of your favorite anime show and scroll to the bottom.
4. Tap SharePlay to start the adventure.

To start a SharePlay session on Apple TV: 

1. Open the Crunchyroll app on your Apple TV.
2. Start a Facetime call on your iOS device.
3. Press and hold the TV/ Control Center button on your Apple TV Remote.
4. Choose SharePlay.
5. Select Start on Apple TV.
6. Tap the prompt on your iPhone or iPad to confirm your viewing
7. Start an episode and your friends will receive a prompt to join the fun!

Looking to end your adventure? No problem! Just follow these steps to end a session:

On iOS and Apple Vision Pro:

1. Navigate to the bottom on the watch page.
2. Tap the SharePlay button.
3. You will be prompted to confirm you want to end the session.

On Apple TV:

1. Press and hold the TV/Control Center buttonon your Apple TV Remote.
2. Select SharePlay.
3. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to end the session.

Yes, the current limit is 33 friends, matching the maximum number of people on a single FaceTime call. It’s like assembling the ultimate anime team!
