A widget is a handy shortcut you can place on your Home Screen or Today View—you can find it by swiping right from the Home or Lock Screen of your phone or tablet. With one tap, they open the Crunchyroll app and take you back to your shows.
Our first widget is the Continue Watching widget. It lets you jump into an episode exactly where you left off! ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-
Setup and installation
Install a widget
- Make sure your iPhone is on iOS 16 or later and your Crunchyroll app is version 4.22.0 or above.
- Touch and hold an empty area of your screen until the apps start shaking.
- Tap the + button in the corner.
- Search for Crunchyroll in the widget list.
- Pick a widget size and tap Add Widget.
- Place it where you want, then tap an empty spot to save.
Add a widget to Today View
The steps are the same as adding to your Home Screen. Just swipe right to open Today View, then follow the install steps.
Add a widget to a Smart Stack
A Smart Stack lets you keep several widgets in one spot. Just swipe through the stack to see them all from your Home Screen or Today View.
- Press and hold a widget.
- Drag it on top of another to create a stack.
- Tap anywhere to save.
- You can reorder or remove widgets later by long-pressing again.
Remove a widget
Press and hold the widget you want to remove. Then choose Remove Widget from the menu.
Common questions
Does removing a widget delete my shows?
No, it only removes the widget, not your Continue Watching list.
Can I add more than one widget?
Yes, you can add multiple sizes or copies!
Do widgets support dark mode?
Yup! Go to Settings → Display & Brightness to turn on dark mode.
Will more widgets be added?
We may add more in the future. Share your ideas with us!
Are widgets on iPad?
Yes, and they even support larger sizes.
Do I need Premium to use widgets?
Nope! As long as you have an account, you can use them.
What if I go offline?
Widgets will also go offline.
What if I log out?
The widget logs out too. Log back in to use it again.
What if my Continue Watching list is empty?
The widget will show as blank until you start watching something. (o_o;)
Are widgets in all countries?
Yes, they’re available everywhere iOS is supported!
Do other platforms support widgets?
Not yet. iOS is the only platform with widgets right now.
