Should I cancel my membership or delete my account?
The decision you make depends on your goals!
If you'd like to stop charges but keep your data, you can cancel your membership at any time. If you cancel, your Crunchyroll account will stay intact, along with the watch history, watchlists, preferences and settings.
If you'd like your account and data removed, you can delete your account. This will remove your information from our system, including but not limited to your watch history, watchlists, preferences and settings, game scores, other user-generated content.
How can I request to delete my account?
To request deletion, just:
- Log in to the Crunchyroll mobile app with the account you want to delete.
- Go to your account settings → Privacy → Delete My Account.
- If you still have an active subscription, follow the prompts to cancel it first.
- Tap Continue to Account Deletion to open the intake form.
- Select the services you would like to delete your data from.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- Submit the request.
What happens after I submit a deletion request?
You’ll get a privacy request email from Sony at the email address you provided. Just follow the instructions in that email to confirm your email address. This is required to verify your account ownership.
Once you confirm, your deletion request is officially submitted. It might take a few business days to process your request. During that time, you may still be able to log in and use your account until the deletion is completed.
