Crunchyroll doesn’t offer licenses or special permissions for public screenings of our shows. This includes clubs, events, classrooms, conventions, or any other kind of group viewing outside of personal, private use.
What counts as “public”?
A public screening includes:
- Showing Crunchyroll content at a convention, fair, or club meeting.
- Playing episodes in a classroom, library, or café.
- Sharing your screen to a group or audience where attendance isn’t limited to family or close friends.
If it’s more than a personal get-together, it’s considered public.
Why don’t you allow public screenings?
Crunchyroll’s content is shared with permission from our partners and studios. Because of these agreements, watching anime on Crunchyroll is meant for personal, non-commercial use only.
This means you’re welcome to enjoy your favorite shows at home or with a few friends but not at a public event or venue.
For more details, please review our Terms of Service.
Can I get a license for a club or event?
At this time, Crunchyroll does not issue or sell licenses for public screenings. If you’d like to host an anime event, you’ll need to reach out to the studio or rights holder of the specific title you want to show.
What can I do instead?
You can:
- Watch with friends and family at home or online using your Crunchyroll account.
- Share your favorite scenes or moments on social media! Just keep it personal and non-commercial.
Crunchyroll loves seeing fans come together to celebrate anime, and following these rules helps protect the shows and creators we all enjoy!
