Even if you have enough funds, your bank may still decline a payment due to security checks, incorrect details, expired cards, or temporary issues. Here’s how to fix it and get back to watching anime without interruptions.
Double-check your billing information
Go back over your credit card details and make sure the name, expiration date, security code, and ZIP/postal code matches what’s on your card and what your bank has on file. Also, make sure your card hasn’t expired or been replaced recently.
If everything looks correct, wait a few minutes then try again.
Reach out to your bank or card issuer
Banks will sometimes decline a charge as a step to prevent fraud or due to regional restrictions or spending limits. Contact your bank or card issuer and ask why your payment was declined and whether any restrictions are in place.
Try a different (accepted) payment method
Make sure you’re using an accepted payment method. Certain types of payment methods (like prepaid Visa gift cards) don’t work for Crunchyroll subscriptions, for example. Check out our full list of accepted payment methods.
