Why can’t I use GCash to pay for Crunchyroll anymore?
Crunchyroll can no longer accept GCash as a payment method. If you are currently paying for your Crunchyroll subscription using a GCash credit or debit card, you’ll need to cancel your current membership, then resubscribe with a new payment method at the end of your billing cycle.
When did this change take effect?
As of February 2025, Crunchyroll can no longer accept GCash as a payment method. Existing subscriptions through GCash won't renew successfully going forward.
What happens if I don’t update my payment method before my next billing cycle?
If you continue using a GCash credit or debit card and don't update your payment method, you'll encounter the following issues:
- Renewal charges will fail because GCash is no longer supported.
- Your Premium membership will end, and your account will become a free membership.
- You won’t be switched to a new payment method automatically.
- You’ll need to subscribe again using a supported method.
To avoid any surprise loss of Premium access, cancel the automatic renewal through GCash, and resubscribe with a supported payment method as soon as your billing period ends.
Will I be charged extra if I switch to a different payment method?
No, you won't be charged any extra fees for switching your payment method. Once your current membership has expired at the end of your billing cycle, you’ll be able to resubscribe using a new payment method at the regular plan price.

How do I update my payment method?
Because GCash can no longer be used, you’ll need to end your current GCash‑billed subscription and start a new one with a supported method.
- Cancel Automatic Renewal: Explore options available to you to cancel the automatic renewal according to your current payment method. See our cancellation guide.
- Wait for Your Current Period to End: Your account will switch to a free subscription once your paid period is over.

Can I use a different card from GCash or any other GCash option?
No. At this time, Crunchyroll is unable to accept any payments through GCash, including GCash-branded credit or debit cards, and any other GCash-linked payment instructions.
